Phillipa Tucker is a human rights activist and Regional Manager for Africa at AIDS Accountability International where she heads up the research and advocacy work. She works on sexual and reproductive health and rights, sexual minorities, governance and accountability issues across the continent. She has spent her career doing health research and advocacy in Africa, and Southern Africa especially. Phillipa’s current research work focuses on Accountability and the promises made in the Maputo Plan of Action, the International Convention on Population Development, the Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanisms and the 2001 UNGASS Declaration of Commitment.
