    Professor Ragab has experience working as a consultant for international organizations working in the field of safe motherhood and sexual, gender based violence and reproductive/sexual health. He carried tasks in Somalia, Kenya, Chad, Nigeria, Senegal, Gambia, South Africa, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Oman, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan and Indonesia. More important, his ability to work in the areas of armed conflicts as he worked for several missions in Somalia and Chad (Darfur Camps). He participated in drawing road maps/strategies for reduction of maternal mortality in countries of the Horn of Africa (MENA Region), mainly Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen as a part of a consultancy for UNICEF Joint Program MENA and ESARO for the Horn of Africa (2003).  His past experience covers different areas of reproductive and sexual health (including safe motherhood), mainly advocacy, research and services/programs. His work on eradicating female genital mutilation in Somalia was recognized by UNICEF in their report of 2002 pp 19 under the sections of “leaders on behalf of Children” section. His work on dealing with the rumors and removing the misconceptions in Somalia, 2007, regarding immunization campaigns is well documented.
