Plenary Speaker: Eleanor Maticka-Tyndale

 Eleanor Maticka-TyndaleimageDr. Eleanor Maticka-Tyndale is a University Professor of Sociology and Canada Research Chair in Social Justice and Sexual Health, University of Windsor, Canada. Dr. Maticka-Tyndale’s research focuses on sexual health and rights particularly within the context of globalization and diverse sexual cultures. She uses a collaborative model working with government organizations, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, health units, and local and international non-government organizations. Her research has taken her to Thailand, Kenya, South Africa, and Nigeria as well as across Canada, the United States and to several European countries. She has worked with the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization and the World Association for Sexual Health in developing policy and programmes related to sexual health. Her publications number in the hundreds and include academic work as well as technical reports, curricula, and civil society presentations.
