Organizations can also support the conference through sponsoring the following:
1. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Meetings. Such meetings can be organized during the conference for 50 or more people to discuss various topics that address the conference theme and sub themes. Duration of the meetings is 1½ hours. Sponsorship will cover the costs for the space and room set-up.
Benefits:
- The sponsoring organization’s banner and message will be put at the breakfast/evening venue.
- The sponsoring organization will be given the opportunity to make a brief presentation at the meeting.
2. Skills-Building Workshops. These workshops can be conducted before and during the conference for 50-100 persons on any topic that addresses the conference theme and sub themes. Duration of each skills-building workshop is 1-½ hours. Sponsorship will cover the cost of space for the workshop, depending on number of participants, and allocation of the workshop on the conference program.
Benefits:
- The sponsoring organization’s banner and message may be put at the venue.
- The workshops will provide organizations with the opportunities to use the presence of various local and international organizations and individuals at the conference to conduct trainings, capacity building workshops or technical updates for selected participants.
- The skills building workshop will appear on the conference program.
3. Satellite Meetings. These meetings can be organized before and during the conference for up to 70 people, and may be conducted on a topic of the sponsor’s choice relating to the overall theme of “Sexuality, Poverty and Accountability.” Sponsorship will cover the costs of space and room set-up.
Benefits:
- The sponsoring organizations banner and message may be put at the venue.
- The sponsoring organization may invite speakers and make presentations on their topic of choice during the meeting.
4. Exhibitions. Some limited exhibition space at the conference venue can be available to interested organizations. The exhibition space will have an opening ceremony, after which the exhibits will remain visible for the duration of the conference.
Benefits:
- Exhibitors will have a platform from which to advertise their products, services, publications and research, as well as a method of individual and group interaction with conference participants.
5. Scholarships. Sponsors can support participants to the conference directly. However, the conference planning committee can also facilitate this process. As costs vary, there will be need to discuss the details of each scholarship with the committee. In general,
- Sponsors must decide the amount of funding they wish to provide to each participant they choose to support.
- Full scholarships will include registration fees plus travel and accommodation expenses for international participants.
- Support for partial scholarships will be considered.
